We had an eventful meeting on April 15th, 2024 and have some important announcements and highlights to share with our members and their families.

Announcements: Prepare for the Court of Honor

Our next Court of Honor is fast approaching, and we are preparing to order awards for our trailmen. Parents, please take a moment to log into Trail Life Connect and ensure that all information is accurate and up to date. This check is crucial to ensure that every trailman receives the recognition they deserve at the upcoming ceremony.

Lithia Springs Camping Trip Details

This weekend, we're excited to head to Lithia Springs for our camping trip! Check-in begins at 3 PM on Friday. Please remember to bring your own food and supplies for the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to bond with fellow troop members and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Bring a Buddy Program

We are excited to continue our Bring a Buddy Program. Trailmen, you are encouraged to bring a friend to our Monday meetings. There are awards and prizes for both you and your buddy! It’s a fantastic way for friends to get a taste of what Trail Life is all about.

Education and Activities

Woodlands Troop Activities

  • Salutations: Our younger trailmen have mastered the full salute and learned when and whom to salute. Understanding these traditions fosters discipline and respect within the troop.
  • Chivalry: We discussed the importance of treating women with respect, such as opening doors and pulling out chairs. These everyday actions are simple yet powerful expressions of chivalry.
  • Good Stewardship: Through engaging stories, the trailmen learned about being good stewards of resources. They heard about both negative and positive examples, from financial mishandling to responsible management of wealth, which illustrated the consequences and benefits of their actions.
  • Teamwork Game: The Woodlands practiced teamwork through a creative game where they worked together to move a ball into a ball pit without anyone moving their feet. This activity emphasized communication and cooperation, essential skills for any successful team.

Navigators and Adventurers

  • Safety First: The older boys reviewed pool and swimming safety, an important skill as we approach the summer months.
  • Gaga Ball: There was spirited competition in gaga ball games, and we even saw a game between Adventurers and Foxes showing great sportsmanship and teamwork among the older and younger trailmen.
  • Fellowship: As always, unstructured time was provided for fellowship, allowing the boys to bond and build lasting friendships.

Devotional Insights

Our meeting concluded with a thoughtful devotional led by Cohen from the Mountain Lions. He shared insights from Psalm 119, reminding us to stay open to God's word and the lessons it holds. Trailmen of all ages are encouraged to lead a devotional, fostering spiritual growth and leadership skills.

Looking Forward

As we prepare for our upcoming activities and events, let's keep the spirit of Trail Life strong—focusing on personal growth, respect for others, and stewardship of the gifts we've been given. We look forward to seeing everyone at Lithia Springs and at our next meeting!

Remember, Trail Life is not just about adventures and achievements; it's about developing character and making memories that will last a lifetime.
