About Lithia Springs Conservation Park

Lithia Springs Conservation Park is a gem within Hillsborough County, known for its natural spring that flows year-round, supplying the Alafia River with cool, clean water. Acquired in 1957 and transformed into a recreational area, this 160-acre park offers a perfect setting for numerous outdoor activities that cater to all ages. The constant 72-degree temperature of the spring makes it an ideal spot for swimming any time of the year.

Activities and Attractions at the Park

The park's natural spring is not only a visual delight but also a popular swimming spot that remains invigorating throughout the year. Besides swimming, our troop can look forward to hiking approximately 3 miles on trails that meander through diverse plant communities, river cypress swamps, and hardwood hammocks. Other available activities include fishing, volleyball, and bird watching, providing plenty of options for everyone to enjoy.

Camping Facilities and Accommodations

Lithia Springs offers 45 campsites suitable for RVs, trailers, and tents, equipped with water, shower, and electrical services. While most sites support 30 amp service, 15 sites also offer 50 amp service. It’s a first-come, first-serve setup, so our troop has made arrangements to accommodate everyone comfortably.

Preparations and Requirements for Our Troop

To participate in this campout, all attending members are required to wear uniforms and bring a completed medical form. Our event welcomes non-member guests as long as they adhere to these requirements. The troop will camp for two nights, ensuring a full experience of tent camping and outdoor living.

Fee Structure for the Event

The fee for both youth and adult participants is $10.00 each. This fee covers the cost of the campsite, access to park amenities, and participation in all scheduled activities.

What to Bring

Participants are advised to bring camping essentials such as tents, sleeping bags, and personal items. Additionally, prepare for the swimming and hiking activities with appropriate gear, including swimwear, hiking boots, and water bottles.

Safety and Park Rules

It’s crucial for everyone to follow the park rules diligently. These include regulations on the use of picnic shelters, swimming area capacities, and general conduct within the park. Adhering to these rules ensures a safe environment for all attendees and helps preserve the natural beauty of the park.

Importance of Following Troop and Park Guidelines

By respecting the guidelines set by both our troop and the park, we foster a disciplined, enjoyable, and safe outing for our members. This adherence not only enhances the experience but also instills a sense of responsibility among our young members.

We are excited about the upcoming campout at Lithia Springs Conservation Park and look forward to an enriching experience full of fun, adventure, and camaraderie. This event is an excellent opportunity for our troop members to engage actively with the outdoors and build lasting memories.
